Historians can give us a clearer lens with which to look at the past. A history degree will give students
a solid education that will prepare them to be good writers and thinkers. History will not just focus on those events that have taken place throughout the past, but will also evaluate how those events have impacted the present state of affairs in the world. History majors can go on to get a masters or Ph.D. in a particular area of history and go on to write, do research or teach.

Students who decide to pursue a degree in history will be readily prepared for a number of professions such as work in the fields of education, anthropology, and sociology. Historians will often go onto graduate programs in order to develop the specialization in a particular area of history and prepare themselves to do research or teach those subjects they focus on.
