Educators Share Their Knowledge for Free!

Posted on Tuesday February 21, 2012 by

The Hudson Valley Writing Project continues to offer frequent seminars on writing that are open to the general public and of particular interest to educators. The goal is to share pedagogy that will help ensure improvements in literacy within an era of texting and tweeting.

• Readers located in the Houston area are invited to join a free lecture by Dr. Vivian Mann entitled: “Understanding Jewish Ceremonial Art.”

• Iowa’s first poet laureate, Marvin Bell, will read from his work that includes 16 volumes of poetry today at Middle Tennessee State University.

• Professor Roz Shafran of the University of Reading will present a free lecture tomorrow at the university’s Palmer building exploring the science behind mental health.

[Note: There are many more such opportunities provided. Contact your local university to see what may be available to you.]
